Planetary Control Room.

Licensed from the Lord of Light Company~ the entire super-rare series of unpublished Jack Kirby art work, originally commissioned for the film version of Roger Zelazny's LORD OF LIGHT and the 1000 acre Science Fiction Land theme park project in Reno, Toronto, Montreal and Colorado, from 1978 to 1980. Soon to be the subject of a feature film and major documentary.

The Lord of Light Art series was envisioned and designed by Barry Ira Geller and Jack Kirby, drawn with incendiary brilliance by Jack and inked with devastating intensity by Mike Royer. Each Kirby architectual masterpiece was created both as a film set design and theme park illustration. Each Art Print portrays the same kick-ass, roving birds-eye view style Jack was famous for, ranging from the power of Captain America and Fantastic Four, to the majesty of Thor and the New Gods. As depicted in Wired Magazine May 2007, this is one of the Lord Of Light prints CIA spies used to secretly free six American Hostages from Iran.

Jack Kirby: I took my screenplay to Jack with my visions of a stadium-sized central communications complex. A massive turning wheel called Raga topped by a great crystal which condenses the planet's electro-magnetic gravity and is the energy source of Heaven. The wheel emits "AUM" sounds and distributes these electronic energies to the Temples around the world through a floating Planetary replica held by a giant hand. The gods watch the temples of Earth along several tiers of TV monitors, detection devices, holographic video-phone projectors and weather control instrumentation. The walls are covered with massive TV screens. Demi-gods, cyborgs and men hover about, hoping to increase their rank in planetary control.

Well, look what Jack came up with! Two drawings, The Raga Wheel and The Hand of Shiva, which, together, form the 40" x 24" Planetary Control Room (Interior), as it was sold at Sotheby's in 1993.

(Note: Both 20"x24" drawings can be sold together at Full size, 40" x 24" or you also purchase them separately as individual drawings, or as a single print, Planetary Control Room!)

Lord of Light:  In the Novel, there is nothing called the Planetary Control Room. Descriptions of it first appeared in the Lord of Light screenplay. I got the idea from Roger's scenario in the beginning of the novel where Sam, in the guise of Prince Siddhartha, enters a holy temple. Announcing his wish to speak with Brahma, Sam is told by a local priest, "all may pray to God, my son." But Sam replies to the amazed Priest, "No thanks. I just want to use your telephone." This inner sanctum's holy secret was none other than a large TV screen hooked up to Heaven, by which the Gods communed to their priests.

Science Fiction Land:
Raga Wheel Vortex - 200+ foot ferris wheel with Flasing Lasers and Hypnotic Sounds revolves through the roof the the Control room, giving a bird's-eye view of the vast theme park, SFL
The Levitation Chamber is a huge cube which has all the continents of Earth painted around it. Children shall vbe able to enter and, because of special air pressure currents, be able to float around freely through the enclosed space as if they wre in zero gravity.

SFL Theme Park Video Screens - Elevators take visitors up the walls of the Planetary Control Room to view the myriads of TV monitors, which will show live and pre-recorded documentaries of what is going on around the world
